Hi there, I’m Ann! When I was 11 years old, my mum and I moved to Spain without knowing where we would live or where I would go to school. Since then, I have lived in 8 different countries in an attempt to discover the world – and myself! Follow along on my adventures and discover tips for your own travels!

Why Camels?
I fell in love with camels on my very first trip to Morocco, after my mum and I were forced to leave our home in Spain. Later, my friends and family began to joke that my spirit animal was a camel, due to my knack for surviving long hikes without water and long flights without bathroom breaks! For my undergraduate studies, I attended Connecticut College, whose mascot is a camel. And of course, studying Arabic and spending considerable time in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region has meant that camels are a familiar sight in my travels! You can check out a collection of my favorite camel photos here.

Where I’ve Been
So far, I’ve lived in 8 countries: the United States, Spain, India, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Morocco (twice!), Jordan, and the United Kingdom.
I don’t like to fixate on the number of countries I’ve visited. In my opinion, this places too much emphasis on quantity rather than quality. I’d rather have longer, more memorable trips in just a few countries than rushing through as many places as possible but not seeing much of anywhere! Not to mention, I love to revisit old friends and discover new places in countries that I’ve previously traveled to.
